A 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were killed overnight Friday when the driver of a vehicle lost control and slammed into a fence dividing two lanes on Petah Tikva's Rehov Harav Malcha. The driver survived the crash with serious injuries. Petah Tikva firefighters extracted the body of one of the people killed from the car that was crushed from the impact of the collision. An initial investigation into the accident revealed that the driver, suspected of driving under the influence, lost control of the car and swerved into the oncoming vehicle lane before crashing into the safety barrier.
