UN Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief chief visits Sderot, Gaza

The Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator of the UN, Sir John Holmes, was visiting the Gaza Strip Friday to examine the humanitarian situation there, Israel Radio reported.
On Sunday, Holmes is scheduled to visit Sderot and meet with Mayor Eli Moyal there.
A whole society is living in anxiety under the threat of rocket fire in Sderot and its surroundings, Holmes said upon his arrival.
He said he was visiting Israel to ascertain the situation of both sides of the conflict.
