A police officer was assaulted by two Wakf officials outside the Temple Mount late Monday, police said.
There were no injuries reported in the late-night scuffle, which occurred near one of the entrances to the compound.
The two assailants were arrested on the scene.
According to decades-old regulations in place at the Temple Mount, Israel maintains overall security control at the site, while the Wakf, or Islamic Trust, is charged with the day-to-day administration of the ancient compound.
