In accordance with a decision by the minister of defense and in light of security assessments, a general lockdown will be imposed on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, starting Wednesday at midnight, the IDF said. The lockdown will be lifted after security assessments. For the duration of the lockdown, the passage of those in need of humanitarian aid as well as doctors, medical personnel, NGO members, lawyers, teachers, religious workers and additional professional groups will be authorized by the District Coordination and Liaison offices. In addition, 1,600 Palestinians will be authorized to pass from the West Bank into Israel for the olive harvest. The Erez crossing will open for humanitarian cases. The Erez crossing will be closed from 4 p.m. on September 12th until 7 a.m. on September 15th. As for the West Bank, the closure will have no effect on the movement of journalists, who are reminded to ensure that their GPO credentials, passports and visas are valid.
