Hundreds of men and women took part on Saturday night in a demonstration in central Tel Aviv in honor of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The event officially ended the week-long "march of the raped," in which two women who were victims of rape marched from the Nevatim Air Force Base, to the President's Residence and on to Tel Aviv's Rabin Square for the Saturday rally. Demonstrators at one point stopped traffic on King George Street, leading police to forcibly remove the demonstrators from the street. One demonstrator was arrested.
