MK Shelly Yachimovich declared her support for Ehud Barak for Tuesday's Labor primary.
In a letter to Labor activists, Yachimovich claimed that Barak's rival Ami Ayalon was inexperienced.
Yachimovich said she believed the next general election would be against the Likud and "Barak has a higher chance of winning."
"Ami's political experience - a year as an MK, is not sufficient preparation for this obstacle-ridden path," she added.
