Yishai reiterates opposition to negotiating over core issues

Shas Chairman Eli Yihai on Wednesday reiterated his opposition to negotiating with the Palestinians over core issues, saying that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was not a strong enough leader to fulfill his commitments.
"We cannot negotiate with a president who only has control over one quarter of his people," Yishai told Channel 2, adding that "peace is vital, but not a virtual peace."
Hours after welcoming US President George W. Bush along with other ministers at Ben Gurion Airport, Yishai praised the US president saying that he "has always given importance to Israel's security."
