Young boy dies on hike in Judean Desert

A young boy died and his brother was seriously injured Thursday night after falling victim to the cold conditions and suffering from dehydration during a hike in Nahal Dragot, in the Judean Desert. A third youngster, who was lightly injured, managed to find help and the 'Megilot' rescue services were called to the scene on Thursday evening. The team, aided by an IAF search and rescue helicopter, is now making efforts to locate the seriously injured hiker, who will be evacuated to Hadassa Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem. This was the third incident this week that required the rescue service to come to the aid of hikers at the same spot, north of the Dead Sea.
