Zim second officer found responsible for accident

The Transport Ministry has found the second officer on a Zim cargo ship responsible for an accident last year in which seven Japanese fishermen were killed, officials said Tuesday. The ministry's findings will become part of the trial being prepared for the ship's officers. The second officer is a citizen of Croatia but is to be tried in Israel because the ship is considered Israeli territory. The ministry's report also found deficiencies in some of Zim's practices, said Arieh Rona, head of Israel's shipping and port authority.
