The popular rapper Kanye West was booed at a concert in England after comparing himself to Hitler.

"I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm (expletive) insane, like I'm Hitler," West told an audience of 40,000 over the weekend at the Big Chill Festival.

As the audience booed, he said, "One day the light will shine through, and one day people will understand everything I ever did."

Kanye Omari West is an American rapper, singer, and record producer. About. com ranked Kanye West #8 on their "Top 50 Hip-Hop Producers" list, and in 2008, Kanye West was crowned by MTV as the year's #1 "Hottest MC in the Game."

Despite his talent and stardom however, West is also infamous for making misguided and sometimes offensive statements. During a 2005 benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina victims which he was hosting, Kanye infamously told live viewers that "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

The Big Chill Festival is an annual summer gathering of music, dance, and comedy performances which takes place in near Eastnor Castle in Westen England.
