The Archbishop of Paris will be laid to rest on Friday morning at the city's Notre Dame Cathedral - where mourners will recite kaddish.
According to Army Radio, Cardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger, a Jew who converted during World War II, will have both Christian and Jewish rites at his funeral.
Lustiger's Jewish cousin, a survivor of Auschwitz, will say kaddish at the ceremony.
