Buildings to get protected rooms

Kiryat Bialik will soon begin a pilot project to build several dozen fortified spaces in two or three apartment buildings in the town, reports www.local.co.il. The project follows the transfer of NIS 200,000 to the city from the Interior Ministry specifically for the building of the reinforced rooms. According to the report, after the funds were transferred, city engineers examined the buildings slated to receive the rooms and promised to obtain planning approval as soon as possible and to have the rooms built within a few months. Residents of the area expressed satisfaction with the project, saying the rooms would give them a feeling of security that they had not had since being bombarded by missiles during the 2006 Lebanon War.
