Residential towers to go up opposite hospital

The Haifa district and planning committee has approved a plan to build three residential buildings containing a total of 80 apartments opposite the Carmel Hospital, reports www.local.co.il. The project will involve evacuating five low-rise buildings containing 26 small apartments, and replacing them with the three buildings of five to seven stories each. According to the report, the project will cover 4.4 dunams opposite the Carmel Hospital. The report said committee members were concerned about the additional traffic expected from an increase in the population, but a Transportation Ministry survey concluded that traffic flow would not be impeded. The committee decided that the site was suitable for urban renewal and for the planned project.
