Seven scientists from the Technion have been named in a list of 300 promising scientists in the European Union, and will receive grants of about one million euros each to continue their research, reports Yediot Haifa. Thousands of candidates from around Europe vied for the grants, and the Technion succeeded in having the most winners from any one Israeli institution.
According to the report, the Technion fielded 49 candidates, with four winning immediate grants and three more expected to receive grants soon. The four who have received grants were named as Drs. Aharon Blank, Debbie Lindell, Eldar Fisher and Shahar Mendelson.
