The national planning and building committee for infrastructure decided Monday to bring for approval a plan to build a fifth water line into Jerusalem. According to the Water Authority, without it, in light of growing demand, water shortages will begin in the city by 2012.
In light of the urgency, a statement from the Interior Ministry said, Mekorot is merely awaiting government approval to begin work immediately.
