Sixty mayors from all over the world will converge in Jerusalem next week, as part of the the twenty-sixth annual Jerusalem Conference of Mayors, a press release announced Monday. The municipal leaders will be guests of Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski, who described the four-day gathering a "unique opportunity to reflect on the pressing issues that concern all mayors every day, everywhere." The conference plans to discuss the challenge of modern cities, and the role of mayors in their native countries and abroad. Mayors from Albuquerque, Antwerp, Addis Ababa, Turin, Wroclaw, Entebbe, and Suva in the Fiji Islands will be amongst the attendees. "The fact that these mayors come from so many locations creates a unique opportunity to share diverse views on the challenges and opportunities that today's world presents to the cities of the world," the statement quoted Jack Rosen, Chairman of the American Jewish Congress and the Council of World Jewry, as saying.
