Meretz invades Kfar Saba schools

Will political candidates in the coming municipal elections stop at nothing in their efforts to win votes? That is the question being asked in Kfar Saba after two Meretz candidates took advantage of the beginning of the school year to distribute school timetables printed with party information to 5,000 schoolchildren around the city, reports www.local.co.il. The two candidates said they would visit every school in the city in a bid to show parents and students that Meretz would add longer hours and increased quality to the education system in the city. According to the report, the first and second candidates on the Meretz party list in Kfar Saba, Yair Avraham and Einav Galili, began making their way around the city's schools as soon as the first bell rang on September 1, distributing timetables headed with the words "Timetable with Meretz" to local schoolchildren. The candidates were accompanied by a number of Meretz youth activists who completed 12th grade at the end of the last school year and who will be voting for the first time in the coming municipal elections, due to be held November 11. Avraham said the aim of distributing the timetables was to let parents and children know that "we are here" and that Meretz would provide an alternative to the existing situation in education. And Galili added, "There is no reason that the public education system in the city should not enjoy the quality hours that the private education system has."
