Residents asked to choose new city symbol

According to the report, in 2009 the new symbol will replace the current city logo that depicts the Tel Aviv beachfront.

The Tel Aviv municipality is asking residents to choose one of two symbols to represent the city in its 100th birthday celebrations in 2009, reports Yediot Tel Aviv. Residents are being asked to vote for one of the symbols through the municipality's web site (www.tel-aviv.gov.il). According to the report, in 2009 the new symbol will replace the current city logo that depicts the Tel Aviv beachfront, and will continue to be used even after the birthday celebrations are over. The city is spending close to NIS 100 million on the centennial festivities.
