A five-year-old Palestinian boy was killed, and his three-year-old brother and six-year-old sister wounded, in a blast in the house belonging to the public relations chief of an elite security force set up by the Hamas-led government in Khan Yunis. In a separate incident in the southern Gaza town, two Palestinians were wounded in factional fighting, which erupted after one person was kidnapped by Palestinian gunmen.
