Abbas: Elections delayed if J'lem Arabs can't vote

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas said Monday he will delay upcoming parliamentary elections if Israel bars Jerusalem Arabs from voting. It was the first time that Abbas has indicated he would delay the vote. Top members of his Fatah Party have been pressuring Abbas to postpone the election in the face of a fierce challenge from the Islamic group Hamas. "We all agree that Jerusalem should be included in the elections," Abbas said in Doha, Qatar. "If it is not included, all the factions agree there should be no elections." His comments were carried on the Al-Jazeera satellite channel.
