Jerusalem will continue to be the "crown jewel" of any just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas told the PA parliament Saturday, as it prepared to ratify the Hamas-Fatah coalition agreement.
Abbas also said that he would keep working with Egyptian negotiators to secure the release of kidnapped IDF Cpl. Gilad Schalit, and that all agreements signed by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) must be honored. Abbas stated that the Saudi peace plan, which, he said, presented a "true, complete solution," be implemented.
