"(Prime Minister Ehud) Olmert is serious about reaching an agreement but there are many disagreements over final status issues," Mishkat Al-Ray quoted Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as saying Sunday. Abbas told the Kuwaiti newspaper that he would renew negotiations with Hamas if the organization "goes back on the steps it took in the Gaza Strip." However, Abbas told the newspaper that the PA had information indicating that Hamas planned to attempt a takeover of the West Bank, but he said the plot was destined to fail.
