Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas offered on Thursday to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Israel Radio reported.
Hamas rejected the offer.
"[Abbas's] call for a ceasefire ignores the suffering of the Palestinian people in order to further personal interests, first and foremost the protection of the occupier," Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum said.
