Abbas to meet Mubarak Wednesday to discuss border crisis

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will meet Wednesday in Cairo with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to discuss the crisis on the Gaza-Egypt border, an Abbas aide said Saturday.
Egypt has proposed that both Abbas and leaders of his political rival, Hamas, come to Cairo to try to solve the standoff at the border between Gaza's Hamas rulers and Egyptian police.
However, Abbas has said he will not negotiate with Hamas unless the group reverses its violent takeover of Gaza in June.
