The Aksa Martyrs Brigades and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said in a joint statement released Saturday that the continued rocket and mortar shell fire on southern Israel was a "response to continued Israeli attacks against our people in the [Gaza] Strip," Army Radio reported. Earlier, Palestinians in Gaza fired three mortar shells at the western Negev, all of which landed in open territory without wounding anyone or causing any damage.
