A mortar attack Monday killed at least 11 people in a mostly Shi'ite enclave of Baghdad, police and hospital officials said.
The shells hit just before sunset in the Dora area, which is surrounded by predominantly Sunni neighborhoods.
The attacks pushed the day's death toll in Baghdad to more than 25 after a string of car bombs earlier.
