Car bomb in Baghdad kills at least 12, wounds 42

A car bomb exploded in central Baghdad on Monday afternoon, killing at least 12 and wounding 42, police and hospital officials said. The bomb went off at 2 p.m. in the Sinak commercial district on the east side of the Tigris River. Two traffic policemen were among the wounded and at least eight civilian cars were damaged in the busy market area, police said.
