Egypt dispatches 500 police to Sinai side of Rafah border crossing

In response to hundreds of Hamas supporters currently protesting on the Gaza side of the Rafah border crossing, Egypt dispatched 500 police to the border, according to a Reuters report which quoted security officials. The official added that additional forces in the area could be called up should the need arise. Over the weekend, sources in Gaza said Hamas supporters were planning to storm the crossing on Sunday.
