The London-based pan-Arabic newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported Thursday that Hamas has said that senior Fatah members were willing to join the Palestinian Authority government coalition under Hamas. Israel Radio reported that a Fatah representative listed three conditions that Hamas would have to meet in order for Fatah to join its government: agreeing to two states, which means acknowledging Israel's right to exist; honoring existing agreements with Israel; and accepting the Arab peace initiative.
