A French aid worker released by the Taliban on Saturday thanked her captors for her freedom in a tearful statement at her embassy in Kabul.
"I want to thank those who helped me in France and in Afghanistan," said the woman, who has only been identified by her first name, Celine. "I thank the Taliban for keeping their promise and delivering me."
She also highlighted the plight of her four colleagues, a French man and three Afghans, who remain in Taliban custody.
