Gunmen kill Sunni Arab banker in northern Iraq

Gunmen in two speeding cars killed a Sunni Arab banker as he was leaving his house Monday morning in northern Iraq, police said. Khairallah Fakhri Ahmed, 65, the director of Iraq's Central Bank branch in Mosul, was killed on the spot when the assailants sprayed him with bullets, police Brig. Abdul-Karim al-Jabouri said. Ahmed's driver and guard, who were waiting for him outside his house, were also killed in the attack which occurred at 8:00 a.m., al-Jabouri added. The violence-wracked city of Mosul, 360 kilometers northwest of Baghdad has been scene of Iraq's deadliest attacks against Iraqi security forces and governmental officials.
