Gunmen kill aide to Iraqi Cabinet minister in roadside ambush

Gunmen have killed an adviser to the Iraqi culture minister in a roadside ambush, police and hospital officials said Saturday. Police said the adviser's bodyguard was also wounded in Saturday's attack on a main thoroughfare in eastern Baghdad. Two cars were involved in the ambush on the adviser, Kamil Shiya, added the officials on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak with the media. One vehicle blocked Shiya's car and gunmen opened fire from the second vehicle. Shiya's death was confirmed by officials at nearby Kindi Hospital.
