Published on the Izzadin al-Kassam website on Sunday, the clip shows the moment the soldier was kidnapped on the Gaza border four years ago. The tank in which Schalit was traveling is shown exploding, and the words, "The illusion is shattering" appear in Arabic, along with the date of the raid.

The video, the second of its kind, was released the day that Noam and Aviva Schalit, along with some 10,000 supporters, set out on an 11-day trek to Jerusalem, in hopes of pressuring the government to meet Hamas’s demands for their son’s release.

Hamas released a 3D animated video morning depicting Schalit returning to Israel in a coffin some two months ago.

On Friday, senior Hamas operative in Gaza Mahmoud A-Zahar told Israel Radio the group had no news regarding Schalit's status, and said that he "was not even sure [Schalit] remains in Gaza."
