Palestinian Interior Minister Said Siyam, of Hamas, met Saturday in Damascus with his Syrian counterpart, Bassam Abdel Majid, the Syrian state news agency reported.
The two discussed the training of Hamas security forces, the agency said without providing further details.
Siyam met in recent days with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Hamas' website said Ahmadinejad promised aid to the Hamas-led Palestinian government, and Israel's Channel 2 TV reported that security training was discussed during the interior minister's Teheran visit as well.
