Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh accused Israel and the US on Saturday of trying to inflame the conflict between Hamas and Fatah in the Palestinian territories. "The United States and Israel are making an effort to ignite a Palestinian civil war," he told Arab media outlets in Gaza, emphasizing that Palestinian unity was an Islamic obligation and a national imperative. "We cannot allow differences in opinions to turn to armed conflict," said Haniyeh, adding, "The guns have to be aimed solely at the occupier."
