Iran's foreign minister delivered a message Saturday from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about the situation in Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon, Syria's official news agency reported.
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki delivered the message to President Bashar Assad shortly after he arrived in Damascus, the SANA news agency said.
No details of the message were released, but the Iranian minister said it was part of the "normal framework of the developed relations between the two countries."
U.S. officials have accused Iran and Syria of meddling in Iraq's turbulent politics and of arming Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.
