Three US Marines were killed in fighting in Anbar province, the military said Friday. The Marines assigned to Multi National Force-West died Thursday while conducting combat operations in Anbar, a Sunni insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad, according to a brief statement that did not provide more details. Identities were withheld pending notification of relatives. The deaths raised to at least 3,337 members of the US military who have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
