Two Iraqi militias claimed early Tuesday morning that they were successful in downing a US F-16 fighter jet, Al-Jazeera has reported.
A US military spokesman said an F-16 crashed during a mission in the vicinity of Baghdad, but that the reason for the crash was presently unknown.
