Iraqi police: Suicide bomber kills 2 at mosque

Iraqi police say a suicide bomber has blown himself up in front of a Shi'ite mosque in northern Iraq, killing 2 civilians and wounding 15. Police chief Col. Awad Kahlil says the attacker set off the blast Friday in Sinjar, a town in Nineveh province about 140 kilometers west of Mosul. Sinjar's district commissioner, Dakhil Qassim, says two of the wounded are in critical condition. Security in Iraq has improved dramatically, though Sunni insurgents remain active around Mosul after suffering setbacks in urban strongholds elsewhere in the country.
