Following retaliatory kidnappings of Hamas and Fatah members by each of the two groups, the Islamic Jihad has stepped in and is attempting to mediate between the two warring factions, Israel Radio reported Monday evening. The Islamic Jihad boycotted the Palestinian Authority legislative elections last January and has refused to sign any agreements on a cease-fire with Israel.
