Egyptian police hunting Palestinian infiltrators said to be planning attacks.

The National Security Council's Counterterrorism Division on Sunday urged Israeli tourists in Sinai to leave immediately, as Egyptian security forces began a large-scale search throughout Sinai on Saturday for four Palestinian terrorists suspected of planning attacks against Israelis. "Egyptian security received intelligence regarding the four Palestinians, who belong to one of the extreme Palestinian factions and have infiltrated Egyptian territory through the Rafah Crossing," a security source said. For a Jerusalem Online video of events click here According to the source, the suspects infiltrated Egypt five days ago and plan to carry out attacks against Israeli targets as a form of retaliation against IDF action in the Gaza Strip. Egypt has called upon owners of various tourist hot-spots throughout the Sinai Peninsula to notify police of every Palestinian staying at their vacation sites. Last Thursday, an Egyptian state security court condemned to death three Islamic terrorists convicted of taking part in the suicide attacks that killed 34 people in Taba and the Ras-Satan Sinai resort in 2004. Eleven Israelis were killed and more than 100 people wounded in the bombings. The court sentenced two other defendants to life imprisonment, while another eight defendants received sentences ranging from 15 years to five years in prison for their roles in the attacks.
