Some 2,000 people have demonstrated in Jordan's capital Amman to protest the 60th anniversary of the creation of Israel. Palestinians call the establishment of Israel in 1948 their "nakba," Arabic for catastrophe, because hundreds of thousands of them fled or were driven from their homes. The protesters in Amman on Friday were carrying Palestinian flags and portraits of Arab leaders. They were angrily chanting anti-Israeli slogans, but the protest ended peacefully.
