About 2,000 Muslim worshippers marched Friday following noon prayers in eastern Amman, in protest of the ongoing archeological excavations at the Mughrabi Gate outside the Temple Mount compound. The protesters - mainly from the Muslim Brotherhood Movement and its political arm, the Islamic Action Front - carried banners, the front's green flags and urged the government in Amman to dismiss the Israeli ambassador and close the "embassy of the Zionist enemy." The worshippers later burned Israeli and American flags, but the protest ended peacefully.
