Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday that the Quartet had arrived at an agreement on the identity of their new envoy to the Middle East. Lavrov would not say who it was, but recent reports indicate that outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair was the chosen candidate.
Lavrov said that an official statement would be made soon.
