Lebanon's new president congratulates spy on his release by Israel

The office of the Lebanese president says Michel Suleiman has received a convicted Hezbollah spy released by Israel and offered him a presidential medal in appreciation for his ordeal in captivity.
The Monday statement says Suleiman voiced commitment to securing the release of all Lebanese prisoners in Israeli jails.
It also says the president congratulated the released convict, Nasim Nisr, who served his six year sentence for espionage.
Nisr, an Israeli of Lebanese descent, returned to Lebanon last weekend to a hero's welcome. Suleiman is the first government official to receive him.
Hezbollah, in turn, delivered Sunday to Israel remains of Israeli soldiers killed in the 2006 war. The swap may be a prelude to a prisoner exchange between the bitter enemies.
