The leader of Lebanon's parliamentary majority is visiting Iraq.
Saad Hariri's trip is a diplomatic success for Iraq, which wants closer ties with the region.
A statement by the office of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki says he and Hariri discussed Lebanon's new government, which includes Hizbullah, the Shi'ite group backed by Iran. Al-Maliki says he supports the accord that led to the government.
Hariri, a Sunni, was forced to accept the accord after a Hizbullah military victory in May.
