Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi expressed support for Hamas on Friday. A statement released in the Libyan press announced that Tripoli would continue to assist the Palestinian people in their just struggle to establish a state. During a meeting with exiled Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal, Gaddafi asserted that his country did not recognize either Israel or the Palestinian Authority, but rather, would only accept a one-state solution that would combine the two entities.
