A car bomb targeting a police patrol exploded Monday morning in downtown Baghdad, injuring at least five people, police said. The blast happened shortly after 10 a.m. in Nidhal street, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky. The victims included three policemen and two civilian bystanders, police Lt. Ali Mitaab said at the scene.
