Mubarak, King Abdullah and PA President Abbas discuss thorny Arab issues

Egypt's president, the Jordanian monarch and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas have met to hash out thorny Arab issues and topics such as the Lebanese crisis and the stalled Middle East peace process. Abbas first met separately with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. The two were later joined by Jordan's King Abdullah II who is visiting the Egyptian capital for the day. Egyptian presidential spokesman Suleiman Awwad says Wednesday's mini summit in Cairo was to focus on the Palestinian crisis and Arab relations following the Damascus Arab conference over the weekend. Awwad says Mubarak is busy these days talking to several Arab leaders about the crisis in Lebanon, the peace process and the situation in the Arab world in general.
