Mubarak: Unrestricted rise of population affects the quality of life

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has warned that the unchecked increase of population is wiping out the returns of the country's economic growth.
Mubarak was meeting with cabinet ministers Monday to discuss how to solve the ongoing bread crisis affecting millions of the nation's poor.
Presidential spokesman Suleiman Awwad says Mubarak believes more needs to be done to drop the nation's birthrate.
Egypt's Health Minister reports that the country's population of 76 million has increased by more than 300 percent since 1952 when it was only 22 million.
